FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

On the 11th of November, we played our first inter school football match against Sha Tin Junior School. The match took place on the KGV School pitch and it started during lunch time, and finished at 2:30pm. When we arrived at 1:30pm, we warmed up for a while then we played against Sha Tin Team A. At the end of the match I felt that our team had excellent coordination and scored a tremendous total of 3 goals. Overall we won 3-0. The captain of our team was Shivam and the goal scorers were Ansh who scored 2 goals, and the other goal was scored by Shivam. There are 7 players in our team and they are……..

After the match we then returned back to KJS in time to go home. Overall I think our first inter school football match was very exciting and thrilling, especially when our team scored 3 goals.

 

 

Two weeks later on the 25th November we went to KGV School to play a match against Beacon Hill School Team B. During the match we scored a total of 2 goals, which made the final score 2-0. The ones who led us to victory by scoring a goal each were Ahaan and Ansh. When we played Beacon Hill Team A, we were defeated due to lack of coordination  which lead us to a loss of 3 – 0. In our team we had 7 players and they are……..

After the match we returned to KJS in time to go home.

 

Overall, I think we played good in the first match, and then lost focus on the second match, which made us loose the game. So hopefully we can improve that by practicing football more regularly.

This year football was a great success. We had lots of players turn up for training and we were able t o field 2 teams in the interschool competition and entered all other football tournaments held in the year. We had fantastic shirts which made us play better because they were so comfortable! The teams were very brave and worked very hard during all our games. We found many games very tough! Our players had to play against many rough teams but we all played hard and did very well.

In our interschool campaign this year we faced some difficult opposition, and guess what? We won some games! At one point Team B had to play against Team A and Team B beat them 3-1. Team A went into the bowl competition while Team B qualified for the Cup. For your information the cup is much better. Unfortunately DBIS won the cup but at least Team A won the bowl.

We entered the Discovery Bay, Hong Lok Yuen and ESF tournaments this year. Our best performance was at Hong Lok Yuen when Morgan (Team B) scored from the half way line and Team A missed out on the semi finals by 1 goal! Our worst tournament was Discovery Bay where no one scored a single goal.

TEAM A – Justin, Julian, Ansh, Adrian, Alistair, Siddharth (GK), Apurv (Vice Captain) and Derek (Captain).

TEAM B – Bryan, Winston, Cameron, Bailey, Irvin, Nikhil (GK and Vice Captain) and Matthew (Captain).
