GIRLS NETBAL

This year the netball results were fabulous for the girls in Year 6 as the A team won the Kowloon Netball competition. It was so much fun as we all were confident and well trained by Mrs. White (retired). She taught us a lot about how to defend an attacker and how to attack in the goal area. It was a spectacular event and we all had fun. As we had already played friendly matches against a lot of the teams we knew most of their tactics as well as learning some new cool tricks. The B team also played very well and proved very hard to beat.

Despite our great result in the Kowloon competition we did not win the ESF School competition. We lost in the semi-finals to Glenealy School who beat us by around 3 or 4 points. They were strong and simply better trained than us. All of us were looking forward to winning the tournament as the last 2 years KJS have been the champions. All of us cried because we love netball and we gave it our best shot.

Everyones netball skills improved a lot this year due to all the hard work we did in training and it was great to see so many enjoying the Netball sessions.

MIXED NETBALL REPORT

Mrs. Pennel and Mr. Riddell helped us a lot in this years mixed netball tournament. The mixed team format of the event meant we had more boys on the team alongside the usual strong girls.

The team members of the Mixed Netball were Rica, Robbie, Sakura, Jenny, Adrian, Apurv, Ishan and Roshni. We were unfortunately not able to win this tournament because once again we weren’t able to beat Glenealy. Nevertheless, All of us were very calm, focused and well trained by Mrs. Pennel and Mr. Riddell.

I believe that all of the memories we have from netball will always be with us. We all had an astonishing time even though we didn’t win all of our tournaments. Thanks for all your support KJS.
