DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Dear Parents,

Last week we welcomed next year’s Y1 cohort for their induction afternoon – it seems hardly any time at all since we did the same last year!  We are busy preparing for next year as well as making sure the last two weeks of term run smoothly.  I know some of you are off on holiday soon and are also preparing for the new school year. Before you start shopping may I take this opportunity to remind you that children should be wearing black school shoes with their school uniform (not black trainers) and white trainers with their PE kit (without coloured stripes or other decorative features).   Please note that jewellery and fancy hair decorations are not allowed.

We are hoping for some drier weather as we lead up to the holidays.  In case of another typhoon or any rain warnings please listen to the local news or check the school website/Facebook page.

Warmest regards,

Karen Thomas

Head of School

Y5 MARKET DAY Wednesday 21st June

Our Year Five students have turned into budding entrepreneurs! As part of their Unit of Inquiry for ‘How We Organise Ourselves’ the students have set up small businesses to sell a range of exciting products. They have faced the Dragons’ Den to bid for their startup money and are now in the process of preparing their goods for sale. They will be selling their products at our Market Day on Wednesday 21st June. If you would like to support their ventures, please provide your child with up to $50 to spend next Wednesday when everyone in school will have the opportunity to go shopping. The students have carefully costed the making of their products to ensure they will be able to pay back their initial amount. Any profit made will be donated to a charity of the students choosing.

KJS MUSICAL 2017-18

Thank you to all those who have signed up to audition for next year’s musical. This week we will audition Y3-6 only. Y1 and Y2 will be called to audition for ensemble roles at the start of the new year.
