Dear Parents,

Once again it was a pleasure to see so many of you at the parent teacher interviews and once again to see how many of you brought along your children. Again I would suggest that not having your child present is like not being present at your own doctor’s appointment! If we are really after “Success for Every Child” the more we place your child in the centre of all we do (including discussions about their learning) the more likely we are to achieve success.

A parent suggested having the important dates at the start of the newsletter would help – especially for those viewing on a phone so we have changed our order this week, I hope it helps!

This week the leadership team will continue to work on clarifying “Success for Every Child” and especially what the word “Achievement” means in our AAROW of Success (Achievement, Agency, Respect, Opportunity and Wellbeing). Today I would like to share a letter that has been shared with me recently via Facebook and I will let the letter speak for itself. Enjoy your child’s success this week!

Please mark your diaries for Thursday 14th December. At 2:00pm we will have a special assembly and then at 3:15 a special afternoon tea in the library to say farewell Karen Thomas. I know many of you would like to express your personal thanks for all Karen has done for the children and staff of KJS.

Regards

Neill

Principal

Alumnus & Former Teacher Visit

Margaret Daniel (Ex KJS Teacher) and her son Jonathan (her son and ex pupil) visited KJS. It was the first time Mrs Daniel had been back to KJS since leaving in 1987! Mrs Daniel still has the gift that made her a very popular teacher in the 1980’s and she can be seen here teaching some body percussion today.

Thanks so much for visiting Margaret and Jonathan!
