Dear Parents,

Welcome back!

It has been an unexpectedly long break. I do hope you and your children have had a refreshing time. We are straight back into it this week as we complete our Book Week and Chinese New Year Celebrations.

On March 5 you will receive the ESF Stakeholder Survey. This survey is very important to both thenschool and the foundation. I strongly encourage you to take the 15 minutes required to complete the survey. In particular there are 10 KJS specific questions related to wellbeing that we really need your input on. I can’t offer you any bribes or rewards other than to say that if we really want ‘Success for Every Child’ then we really need every parent to respond to the survey!

I am really looking forward to hearing you, our parents, having your say about KJS and ESF in the upcoming survey. In the meantime please ask your child to talk about the highlight of their day (“What three things were great about your day at school?”) as they get back into the swing of schools and learning.

Kind Regards

亲切的问候,

सधन्यवाद

Neill O’Reilly

Principal

Chinese New Year Celebration

The CNY assembly is postponed to Friday 2 March. Parents and students please be reminded to come to school wearing Chinese-style or red-colored clothes to celebrate CNY in our school!

ESF Stakeholder Survey

After Chinese New Year stakeholders will be invited by email to participate in the biennial ESF Stakeholder Survey, which will be open from 5 to 19 March 2018. Through this survey we aim to find out about the impressions that parents, staff and students have formed about the education we provide. The feedback from the survey will help us build on our strengths and inform our future planning.

A parent invite will be emailed to the primary contact parent in your family on 5 March. [If you have a child at another ESF school you will receive a separate invite by email to participate in that school’s survey].

We would be very grateful if you would spare the time to complete the survey. It’s shorter than in the past and takes about 15-20 minutes to complete (though may take a little longer if you wish to add comments in the optional comment boxes).

Y6 Food Drive

Before the holiday, Y6 has raised 10 boxes of food to Feeding Hong Kong, a local charity organisation. Thanks to the effort of the KJS community, the food collected can help provide approximately 363 meals for people struggling in hunger.
