CRICKET

This year our cricket looks very promising with all the kids performing well in at least one of the skills of cricket, i.e., batting, bowling and fielding. We are preparing very hard every Thursday for the tournaments which will be held in May and June. One of them is the Qualifying Kowloon Tournament and the second is the one where schools all over Hong Kong come and play against each other.

Some of the drills that we do are listed below:

For Batting

  • Defensive shots
  • Playing straight with the bat.

For Bowling

  • Bowling straight
  • Steady action
  • Practicing Spin or Fast

For Fielding

  • Back up practice
  • Accurate aims at the wicket
  • Fielding by using our feet and hands or even our bodies.
  • Good luck to all our cricketers this year.

KJS - CRICKET CHAMPIONS!

SEASON 2008/09

This year the cricket season ended with a huge success with the KJS A team winning both, the Kowloon Qualifying as well as the ESF cricket tournaments. Although this year we could not train at the Kowloon Cricket Club, we still managed to train hard to get ready to give our best.

We entered 2 teams in the Kowloon Schools Qualifying tournament on 20th May 2009. Our 2nd team played some great cricket to finish in 4th place, one place higher than last year, while our 1st team defended the title it won last year and entered the cup competition of the ESF Cricket Tournament held at KGV on Saturday the 6th June 2009.

On a hot Saturday morning, we faced tough competition from the German Swiss, Clearwater bay and Kennedy Schools. With good contributions from everyone, we managed to beat all of them and avenge our close defeat in the last year’s final match. We hope that the next year’s team will uphold the fine KJS cricket tradition and defend both the titles.
