BASKETBALL

The first ESF BASKETBALL tournament was held this year at KGV. KJS were able to enter 2 teams and both trained very hard at Rose Street in preparation of the big event. Mr. Riddell and Coach JJ gave up their time to give the players some valuable advice and both teams responded very well.

The tournament itself was a huge success. Almost 20 teams competed! Both KJS teams were drawn in tricky groups but performed very well and played some good attacking basketball. The KJS A team did particularly well, and was able to qualify for the quarter finals. They played a very strong Chinese International Team both in the group stages and again in the quarter finals. They were too strong in the first game but the team stepped up in the quarter final match and played their hearts out and were only narrowly defeated.

Everyone enjoyed the day and gained a lot from the experience. We look forward to competing in the basketball tournaments next year.
