General Description of KJS
Kowloon Junior School (KJS) is part of the English Schools Foundation. The largest international education organization in Asia. KJS is one of the ESF primary schools serving students in Hong Kong. KJS is a primary school for 900 children from5 to 11 years. It operates across two campuses, one campus situated at Perth Street, Ho Man Tin, for Year 1 to 3 students and another at Rose Street, Yau Yat Chuen, Kowloon Tong,for Year 4 to 6 students. Our school accommodates up to 30 classes, 5 classes ateach year level and the maximum class size is 30 pupils. To assist each child to develop to their full potential in all areas, a balanced programme of academic, social, physical andcultural activities is offered at KJS.
Concept plans have been drawn for the redevelopment of the Perth Street campus. A brand new school for all 900 KJS students is being planned.
All of the classrooms on both campuses have interactive whiteboards and access to a bank of laptop computers. Both campuses have full wireless connectivity and a computer lab.
A team of specialist teachers in Music, PE, Mandarin and ICT provide specialized lessons for all students.
The current staff are outstanding educators. Whilst they originally hail from UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or American, many have been in Hong Kong for many years (average 8 years plus).
Kowloon Junior School is a wonderful place to teach. Hong Kong culture values education. Parents are very supportive. The students are wonderful and the staff are amazing.
