Yr 6 Weekly Update 15 Aug 2016

Dear parents,

We hope that you have all had a really relaxing holiday and look forward to hearing all about it from the students! We are about to start Year 6, the final year in primary school. Where has the time gone?? Leaving your child on their first day at school may only seem like yesterday…………

A very exciting year lies ahead. Being the ‘top of the school’ offers additional responsibilities – both personal (preparation for secondary school) and for the school community as a whole.

Leadership opportunities include becoming House Captains, members of the Student Council, school monitors and Year 1 buddies. Highlights of the year will be Year 6 camp, the school show and the PYP Exhibition where the children have the opportunity to showcase their skills through researching a passion of their choosing with a view to making a difference to the world we live in.

In the next few weeks we will have the opportunity to meet with you at the Year Ahead and Welcome Meetings –  details are in the main school newsletter. At KJS we adopt an open door policy and the Year 6 teachers are very happy to meet to discuss any issues your child may be encountering. We look forward to working in partnership with you to give your child the best possible experience in this very important year.

Regards

Year 6 team
