People Explore to Understand the World

We have been exploring how different sounds can be blended together to make words and how different strategies such as ‘sounding out’ helps us to read. In our inquiry into pattern we have been looking at repetitive sentences when reading and writing. Have you read the book ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear?

We have been curious about provocations that have been in our classrooms, such as, Ms. Wallace’s guinea pig and our Wonder Wall. Our curiosity has led to questions that we are going to explore further. We have been discussing how to find out the answers to our questions – How do you find out about things you don’t know?

We have been exploring how numbers can be represented. How many ways can you show number 5? What does it mean to you? We have also been using different tools such as 110 squares and number lines to help us count in different steps.

Through our independent inquiry we have agreed that our senses are very important tools that we need when we explore. We used them a lot on our outdoor classroom day and in our classroom explorations! Which sense do you use the most?

We have been learning about reflection and what it means to be reflective,What does it look like? What do you do? Our reflection on our learning is helping us to move on, share ideas and think hard about what we are doing and how we are doing it!
