Yr1 Weekly Update – 12/02/16

During Phonics, we are continuing to make and break-up words in order to read and spell using our current phonic knowledge. During Literacy, we are learning how to describe objects, characters and settings using a variety of adjectives and appropriate vocabulary. Can you describe some of the characters from your favourite storybook at home?

During our Unit of Inquiry, we have explored how using our imagination helps us to think and act creatively. We have used the stories “Not a Stick” and “Not a Box” as a stimulus for such creativity by turning sticks and boxes into something else. What would you turn a stick or a box into?

In Maths, we have been ordering and sequencing a set of numbers up to 100. We have been sequencing up to five numbers from the smallest to largest. Can you sequence a set of up to five numbers from the smallest to largest?
