Yr3 Curriculum Update – 04/05/18

Working together to achieve success for every child

Central Idea:  Artists can use scientific principles to create.

Science in School

We continue to look at the elements of light and sound as part of our unit of inquiry.  The students have had the opportunity to explore art and science in their own classrooms this week with some very interesting and exciting scientific demonstrations and lessons.

Maths

We have finished learning about fractions and have been very creative with our learning.  Some classes designed fraction art while others designed their own fraction game. This week we have started to investigate 2D and 3D shapes.

English

This term we will be focusing on story writing.  Watch this space for some exciting and interesting stories in the next curriculum update!!!!!

Warmer weather!

As it is starting to warm up, please ensure your child has their school hat each day (no hat, no play) and a water bottle containing water.  Remember to apply sunscreen before coming to school.  It is a good idea to start wearing the summer uniform now that it is warming up, and keep a jacket in your child’s bag should the weather suddenly change.

Important Dates to remember
