Yr4 Weekly Update – 03/24/17

This week has been all about student reflection. Children have had all sorts of opportunities to review and reflect on their learning over the last term and consider their next steps. Being metacognitive is one of the key thinking skills that the PYP promotes and all our students have done a brilliant job of ‘thinking about thinking’ this week.

The Student-Led Conferences have been a fantastic learning opportunity for the students to hone their presenting skills. All of the work that we have done on summarising and synthesising, on viewing and presenting and in building confidence and courage were on show.

The chance to use their language and skills in a ‘real life’ situation is priceless and the teachers have been blown away by how well all the students have risen to the challenge. We hope you enjoyed it too!

Next week is the start of our new unit on machines and we are collecting junk modelling materials as well as unwanted mechanical toys (anythning with moving parts) for deconstruction. Many thanks if you are able to contribute these.
