Yr4 Weekly Update – 04/11/16

General

It was great to see parents this week and be able to talk about students’ success and next steps. This week we have been looking more closely at codes of behaviour and how they relate to communication. Our Dance lessons with Mrs Tucker have been very well received and the children are enjoying expressing themselves through a different medium.

Literacy

We have continued to learn about inferring in our reading to find the meaning of unknown words from the text clues around it combined with our background knowledge. Our focus in writing has been ‘explanation’ including the language and the structure of the text.

Maths

We have been applying our mental and written methods for addition and subtraction to some word problems
