Dates for Your Diary28 February - 31 March Book Month 25 March 3-Way student led conference 01 April Last day of school (Finish 12pm) 04 April - 18 April Term break 19 April First day of school Dear KJS Families, I would like to start with an exciting announcement. As you may be aware, our beloved Vice Principal (VP) - Ms. Jane Parker - will be leaving KJS and Hong Kong at the end of this school year, so we have been going through an in-depth recruitment process to find her successor. Teachers, students, KJS senior leaders, and an ESF Centre senior leader have all been involved in the search for a new VP, and I am glad to share that Mr. Andy Eastwood - currently a primary VP at Discover College - will be joining the KJS family in August. Mr. Eastwood has a wealth of experience both in and outside of the ESF, and his strengths in building positive and strong learning relationships will greatly benefit our community. We are still waiting on details pertaining to the planned Compulsory Universal Testing (CUT) scheme. As previously mentioned, we have planned contingencies for a variety of possible staff absence scenarios and aim to maintain learning and teaching consistency where we can. Please note that a temporary move to independent learning for a class or year level will be a last resort strategy, however, this may be unavoidable at times if we have a large number of absences in a condensed time frame. Online Three-Way Conferences will be held after school on 24/3 and all day on 25/3 (no school for students). These conferences will be focused on students' learning targets and framed by the questions: Where am I going? How am I doing? and What's next? Registration will open on 16/3 and a letter with details will be sent via the ESF App early next week.
