It was wonderful to see 170 parents registered to hear from international literacy expert, Matt Glover last night, as he shared ideas, tips and strategies to support literacy development. This session is a continuation of over 15 parent workshops we have offered in 2020/21 and reflects one of the upsides of the Zoom era where more parents are attending sessions from the comfort of their home, work or even while travelling! Many thanks to Ellie Grant and Jane Parker for hosting the event and promoting success in literacy at KJS.
As we head into the later stages of 2020/21, it is a delight to visit classes and see the learning in action via PYPX and units of inquiry. Our children have such energy and enthusiasm for learning and are so keen to make a difference in our world through action. Thank you for the vital role you play in encouraging critical, creative and inquiry thinking in your children. Together, we can support our children to be active participants in their learning and to leave KJS loving learning.
Finally, we encourage you to complete the ESF survey if you have not already done so. I promise this will be the last survey for the 2020/21 academic year! Your participation allows us to gain a sense of the effectiveness of the work at KJS and compare this to the broader Foundation feedback. The data and subsequent analysis and action supports school continuous improvement.
The celebration of student success will channel to our Facebook page. You can find the school’s Facebook here. Please keep the photos and stories coming of our children shooting the AAROW’s of Success!
