Dear Parents,

The day has finally arrived! Our Year 1 students returned today and you will see some of the photos below and on Facebook. We can tell you that the children had a wonderful day. They were so happy to see their friends, teachers and educational assistants. As Year 1 children, they will need constant reminders of our 3M’s for success. It would help if all families have a chat about what these mean in preparation for children returning.

We are absolutely delighted to have the children back and we can’t wait to see our Years 2, 4 and 6 next Wednesday (23rd) and then 1, 3 and 5 on Thursday (24th).

Please do reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the return to school plans.

Timetable changes

It is very important that you take the time to read your child’s class timetable for next week as there will be significant changes from Wednesday onward. The timetables will be shared with you this Friday via the normal channels.

Distance Learning Survey

We are very keen to hear your voice about Distance Learning in 2020/21. Please take five minutes to give some feedback so that we can see what might need enhancing if we have to return to distance learning in the future. Last year, we typically had over 60% of parents responding. This volume of respondents really gives us a clear picture of opinion and a mandate for any potential changes. Here is the survey.

As we come to the end of this phase of learning, we want to take the opportunity to thank you for partnering with us during this time. We know parents have worked so hard to support their children. It is due to the positive partnership between home and school that we have been able to ensure positive progress in learning, wellbeing and especially, agency and self management during these challenging times. From what we saw today, we think there will be many very happy parents over the next week as children start returning to school!

Kind regards

亲切的问候,

सधन्यवाद

This is an important notice to all Y6 parents. If you wish your child to transfer to an ESF secondary school, you are required to submit a transfer application for Year 7 (available only on Gateway) during the period Tuesday 1 September- Friday 18 September 2020.

Applications are processed according to current residential address at the time of application; change of residential address following submission of application and prior to entry to Year 7 will not be considered.

For further details, please refer to information available on the ESF website at http://www.esf.edu.hk/year6-to-year7-key-dates/ for key dates and http://www.esf.edu.hk/esf-zones for school zones.

Borrowing iPads or Chromebooks

As you will see from our Return to School timetable, there are times when your child is ‘in school’ and at home during the transition phase and then when we are back ‘in school’ children will zoom from home in the afternoons.

We are aware that in some homes parents will still want to access the school devices meaning the child would have to transport the device safely back and forward each day and charge the device each evening. If you believe your child can manage this responsibility, safely, and responsibly (the device will have to be carried in the child’s school bag), and need the device for the zoom please complete the form below.

For Y1 & Y2 iPad Mini, click here;  for Y3 – Y6 Chromebook, click here.
