Dear Parents,
We are so delighted to see we already have 94 parents signing up for our evening with Professor Helen Street. Her information evening next Thursday will be really valuable for all parents and there is no guarantee that Dr Street will be back with us in the years ahead, so please sign up!
We had our first celebration of learning Assembly last Friday with Year 2-6 undertaking to be especially kind, caring and supportive of our new Year 1 students. We are so delighted to have our Year 1 students joining us and getting into the swing of life at KJS. The assembly was also an opportunity to welcome our new staff and reinforce the focus on wellbeing in the term ahead.
We really are set up well for a wonderful year at KJS, however the factor that will determine the success or otherwise of our students is our partnership with families. To help us please make sure you sign up for the welcome meetings so that you can share you aspirations, concerns and knowledge about your child so that together we can achieve KJS Success. When home and school work together the sky is the limit for our children! I am very grateful we have such a supportive community at KJS.
James E. Faust comments: ‘A grateful heart is a beginning of greatness. It is an expression of humility. It is a foundation for the development of such virtues as prayer, faith, courage, contentment, happiness, love, and well-being.’
We encourage you to have some conversations as a family about what each family member is grateful for and encourage your child to chat about what they are grateful about at KJS.
Finally, please go to your app store and download “ESF” and then select KJS so that you can see our calendar and have newsletters etc directly to your phone. If you have children at other ESF schools they may also be ready to use this helpful app!
Kind regards
亲切的问候,
सधन्यवाद

Principal
Mosquitoes and Dengue Fever
As you will be aware there has been a recent increase in Dengue Fever across Hong Kong. The school is very aware of the situation and with ESF support are taking a range of preventative measures. To support your child’s wellbeing please spray repellent on them before they come to school and attach repellent patches to their uniforms if this is your normal practice. We are monitoring the situation on a daily basis and we can advise you that to date we have no significant increase in mosquito numbers or bites on children at school. Our school nurse keeps very accurate and up to date records and will advise leadership if the situation changes. In the meantime we remain vigilant in our preventative measures and will continue to monitor the situation. Thank you for your support.
