Dear Parents,

It feels wonderful to be back into ‘normal school!’

It was excellent to see so many parents and caregivers prioritize the time to come to school to attend the Library Workshop for Parents and Helpers last week and for Year 5 & 6 Parents Relationship and Sexuality Education (RSE) this week. When we work together as home and school, we will certainly achieve “Success for Every Child.” If you missed either of those sessions and would like to know more, the links can be found here for the library and here for the Y5&6 RSE. For our Year 5 & 6 children, we will be commencing the Relationships and Sexuality Education shortly. Please contact Mr. Fay if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you again to Parents who wrote to me or spoken with me about their concerns, queries or positive feedback. We have had many parents commenting on how they felt well informed over the last month and I am pleased to say that in the new year, we are one of the first ESF schools that will be rolling out a dedicated App to streamline communications with families, so keep an eye out for that!

We have the opportunity to secure the expert services of St Johns to run a parent session regarding supporting your children in these challenging times in Hong Kong. We are keen to determine if this would be helpful to families. Please go to this link if you would be interested in attending a 4:00-5:00 pm session at school. In terms of safety and student wellbeing, a gentle reminder students are not permitted to have cell phones or watches at school. Any contact with parents or helpers during the school day is to be via the school office. We are aware of and approve of, some older students carry a cell phone in their bag (and it remains in their bag all day) for safety reasons when travelling home alone or via public transport.

We note the school diaries published at the start of the year have Monday 3 February 2020 as a CPD day. Please note this is an error. Our CPD day, (no children in school) also in the diary in Term 2, is Friday 14 February.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Kind regards

Neill O’Reilly

Library News – Library Workshop for Parents and Helpers Survey

Thank you to all the parents and helpers who attended last week’s workshop. We really enjoyed meeting all of you. The event was highly successful due to the support we received from our Year 6 Techsperts.  Here is a picture of our team:

In order to gain a better understanding of what other workshops we can offer to support your children’s learning, please take 5 minutes to complete this survey before 2 December, whether you attended the workshop or not.
