Yr1 Weekly Update - 01/26/17Imagination can be shared through storytelling…  This week, all students performed in the Year 1 Showcase, which focused on storytelling through a variety of art forms. The children had a fantastic time performing to their parents and family members where they demonstrated the use of story techniques, including the use of action, voice and song. The students in Year 1 have explored the meaning of Chinse New Year and how it is celebrated. They have listened to the story of the Great Race and sequenced this, focusing on the concept of ordinal numbers, such as, first, second, third, last etc. The children have enjoyed partaking in a variety of Chinese New Year craft activities, such as making Rooster puppets. The Year 1 team wish you an enjoyable and restful Chinese New Year Holiday and we look forward to working with you again in February.
