IMPORTANT DATES

Dear All,

It was a pleasure to be able to visit our Y4 and Y5 campers last week who, despite challenging weather, were absolute super stars. I am currently sitting at Y6 camp with blue skies and a cool breeze watching the children busily go about their activities – camp really is a wonderful experience for them. Thanks again to all the staff who accompanied the students. Although it is great fun to see the children out of school I appreciate that being on camp duty essentially means being on call 24 hrs a day so I’m sure the Y4 – Y6 parents will join me in extending my thanks to them.

With the cooler weather children are now wearing winter uniform. Please note that all clothing should be named, that jewellery should not be worn in school and that socks should be at least ankle length.

Over the last few week it has become apparent that some parents are still unaware of our ‘no nut’ policy. We have a few children in school who have a severe allergy to nuts and as such we rely on you to adhere to our policy. In addition to packets of nuts (some of which were confiscated before being opened at camp) we do not allow peanut butter or Nutella. Please take the time to discuss this with whoever provides the snacks and lunches in your house. This is a serious medical matter which can not be ignored.

School Disco

Have you bought your tickets for the school disco on the 9th December yet? The RAINBOW disco has a dress code for each year group. Please note there is no need to dress completely in your year group colour…. Just a little splash of your designated colour will do! Tickets can be purchased using attached form.

ESF Football Tournament

Very well done to our teams who played at the football tournament at KGV on Saturday.  Coached by Mr Riddell and Mr Fay both teams played well with the A Team placed as runners up in the Bowl competition.

Student Action

At the weekend Eugenie went to the beach near my house to do a clean up. Thank you Eugenie!
When we arrived at Big Wave Bay the beach looked very clean. However, when we looked closely, there were tons of unnatural pieces such as plastic parts, disposable container parts, spoon/ fork parts, plastic bags, cigarette butts, glass pices and bottles.

The event raised awareness about how important it is to be careful when we are throwing things away – and of course the importance of reducing the usage of such materials.

Eugenie wants to share this experience with KJS in order to promote the importance of environment protection.
