Yr3 Weekly Update – 05/12/17

 

 

Many food products go through a process of change and interconnected systems.

 

Attitude:  Curiosity

Concepts:  Change, Function, Connection,

 

Unit of Inquiry

The classes have started working on their summative assessments. They have been asked to design cereal boxes, create Google Slides and flow diagrams/ posters, to show their knowledge of where and  how we get our food. Some classes have continued their work on coding and are getting very good at programming their BEEBOTS successfully.

 

Maths

Children have been applying their knowledge of measurement. Some have made clothes, others have designed menus and looked at the amount of different ingredients for cakes.

 

Literacy

The children have been using Google slides to upload photos and help explain where their chosen food products come from. Then they have worked on their presentation skills and presented them to the class. The most challenging task was for them to extract detailed information from websites and summarise their understanding of the text into simple language for their chosen audience.
