Yr4 Curriculum Update – 24/11/17

Working together to achieve success for every child

Dear parents,

Some of the exciting activities and challenges at Sai Kung Camp!

This week, Year Four have had an action packed visit to Sai Kung on their first school camp. Students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences and challenges  such as archery, navigating a rope course, hiking to Trio Beach, kayaking, sailing and eating yummy pizza!

The students met the challenge of living away from home and showed their courage and independence by living in their dormitories in the Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre.

The wide variety of activities helped them develop many of the skills, attitudes and learner profile attributes we focus on. They found themselves challenged in many different ways and we were so proud by how well they rose to those challenges.

Here are some reflections from the students:

“My best moment was bike riding. I rode on a 4-wheel bike and had a big race with my friends.” (Marc 4R)

“My favourite activity was kayaking. My partner was Rui Hua. I had never been kayaking before. It was super fun!” (Suie 4R)

“My best moment was in archery when I shot my arrow in the middle of the target!” (Ottie 4R)

“My funniest moment was when I was spotting crabs. I fell off the stone I was standing on!” (Alex 4R)

How you can help at home

Talk with your child about their camp experience. What was their best moment? What did they enjoy doing? What new things did they try/learn? What made them proud? What did they achieve? What will they remember most about it?

Remember if you have any concerns or questions about your child’s learning and wellbeing at school please contact your child’s teacher in the first instance.

Kind Regards

Team Year 4.
