DATES FOR YOUR DAIRY

Dear All,

Last week we enjoyed having Mr O’Reilly visit the school, gathering information before he starts with us in August.  Neill had the chance to meet with different stakeholders and is really looking forward to meeting the community as a whole after the holidays. I really enjoyed working with him and ensuring that he has all the information he needs and am excited about what he will be able to bring to the school to take us to the next level.

The photo above is just one taken from the ESF Mother Tongue Celebration on Friday. Please look at Kowloon Junior School facebook page for the rest of the photographs. Thank you to all our wonderful parents who help facilitate the Japanese and Korean Mother Tongue classes in school.

Tomorrow we will be enjoying the Dragon Boat races – I hope you have a wonderful day off together – perhaps you could start to make your costume for Book Week’s dress up day!

See you on Wednesday.

Warmest regards.

Karen Thomas

A message from Scholastic Chess

We are excited the KJS students have shown a keen interest in learning and improving their chess skills.  In addition to running chess programs in schools, we also offer group and private sessions off-campus.  We also run a monthly tournament that is open to all students in Hong Kong.  During the summer, these tournaments frequently take on an international flavour with students who happen to be in Hong Kong on vacation participating in them.  The tournament dates and registration are shown on our website at ScholasticChess.HK.  Unlike the typical open tournaments, our monthly tournaments are based on divisions, with students competing among similar strength players.  As a thank you for the support from the Kowloon Junior School community, we will be offering free entries to all Kowloon Junior School students to the tournament on 16th July 2017.  Please feel free to contact us by email at info@ScholasticChess.hk and phone/text at +852 6629 5092 for more information about our off-campus sessions and tournaments.
