Dear Parents,
We trust you had a relaxing and enjoyable long weekend and National Day with your family! In New Zealand our national day (Waitangi Day) is a day of celebration and invokes a sense of wellbeing and reminder of heritage, customs and tradition, it is an interesting conversation to have with your children regarding days of importance rather than just a day off school. Why do we have the day off? What led to the celebration? What might it mean for different people? What other important days do we celebrate in Hong Kong and our own countries? These discussions help children to build a sense of identity, appreciate and value other cultures and honour the days of importance in the country we live in. You will see below we are preparing for another important cultural day in Hong Kong with Diwali in November. If your child would like the opportunity to perform at our special assembly then please read the information below.
This is a last minute reminder that we have a very important parent session at 5:00pm tonight that will give you skills and strategies to keep your children safe online. Please come along even if you have not signed up, you won’t want to miss this.
Finally, in an attempt to streamline our communications all non essential messages and communications will be via our school facebook page, see below for the link and please do keep the celebrations of the AAROW’s of success coming into the office so that we might share the Success of Every Child.
Kind regards
亲切的问候,
सधन्यवाद

Principal
