Acting Principal’s Message
Dear KJS Families,
I hope that you all had an enjoyable and energising break. The opportunity to travel more freely was very well received by many in our community, and this was highlighted by a number of very excited KJS students who have shared their experiences with me.
This week we aimed to continue with our Athletics Days at the Perth Street Sports Ground but, unfortunately, the unseasonally wet conditions stopped us from going ahead as planned. While it was disappointing for all, the good news is that we should be able to, once again, invite parents to these events in the future.
With Chinese New Year just around the corner, our Chinese Team are working hard to prepare our students for our CNY assembly. After the great success of our Christmas assemblies in December, we expect that our students will embrace the opportunities to perform, share, and witness the beauty of CNY celebrations. We have also arranged a Lion Dance for our students on the last day of school before the CNY break.
Yesterday, I received an update from the KJS PTA regarding the reinstatement of a lunch provider at KJS. They are still working through the process to find the best provider to fit our needs, so we should be able to move forward in the near future. We will keep you updated, and I thank you for your patience.
We have received some feedback from the transport authority regarding cars illegally blocking Perth Street, particularly of an afternoon. We understand that dismissal presents a challenging situation because of the large number of buses and cars that congregate at that time. In response to this feedback, I would like to continue to encourage KJS families to consider the use of a bus service for the transport of their children to and from school. I appreciate that this may not be possible for all, however, every student that is able to travel by bus (or on foot) means one less car in the vicinity of KJS.

KJS Term 2 Sports Activities ( for Year 3 to Year 6)
The KJS PE department welcomes all children to get involved with sports and would like to inform you of the additional opportunities for students in term 2.
Our sports clubs are always very popular. To ensure we provide opportunities for all children we may split some of our clubs into separate cohorts. You will be informed of your cohort when registration is complete. With this in mind please ensure you are aware of your start dates and your child is able to fully commit to their chosen lunchtime and/or after school activities.
Kowloon Junior School sports clubs are designed to be inclusive and we welcome all levels of ability. Further details of each club can be found on the Gateway prior to registration.
Please note that parents and caregivers are required to make their own travel arrangements for the after-school pick up.
We are looking forward to another great term of sports at KJS.
