Dates for Your Diary
10 June Year 4 Camp (Day 1) – Postponed to 13 September 2022
17 June Year 4 Camp (Day 2)
23 June Year 6 Leaver Assemblies
24 June Last day of Term 3 (school ends at 12:00)
Dear KJS Families,
Though Red Rain was very much on many people’s minds last Wednesday, that wasn’t the case for our Y5 students. I was fortunate enough to experience the Y5 Dragon’s Den presentations last Wednesday, and our students did a fantastic job of sharing their creative and practical ideas. Having only three minutes to convey both process and product, our Y5 students used technical drawings, precise language, and authentic enthusiasm to win over their audience. They also asked for immediate feedback, which was recorded so that they could take time to digest it afterwards. Overall, it was a very positive and constructive learning experience for our students.
Last Friday, the inclement conditions prevented us from going ahead with the first Y4 day camp sessions as scheduled. While there will be some rain around for the next few days, we’re quite hopeful that we won’t have to make any changes this week. As expected, our Y4 students were disappointed to hear the news but felt better by the end of Friday after they had participated in a range of activities on campus at KJS.
Finally, we are very much looking forward to our Y6 Leavers’ Assemblies on 23/6 and, at this stage, there are no plans to make any changes to the in-person arrangements. This is a landmark event for our Y6 students, so it is our aim to create a memorable experience for them to look back on fondly for the rest of their lives.
Kind regards,
Dr Jamie Schmitz
Principal
Distribution of Refund Cheques (Year 6 Students only)
Our Finance Team has prepared crossed cheques for Year 6 parents who have submitted an online request via ESF Payment System for a refund of yearly fee balance before the deadline – 30 May 2022. The cheques will be distributed to the students involved on Friday 17 June 2022.
For parents who have submitted such a request, please remind your child to safe-keep the cheque upon receipt and pass it to you as soon as they see you after school. This will be another great chance to give them the responsibility and be accountable.
